The Charter Revision Commission completed their work in May of 2017 by submitting thier final draft of suggested Charter Revisions to the Board of Selectmen. On the Novemember Ballot, Charter Revision was broken down into two questions.
One question addressed the change in terms from two (2) year to four (4) year terms for the Mayor, Selectmen, and Special Service District Authority Members. That question was voted down, and terms remain at two (2) years.
The other question pertained to accepting all other suggested revisions, which was passed.
Beginning January 1, 2018 the Town of Putnam (revised) Charter went into effect. You can find the Charter on the Website, Town Clerk's and Mayor's Office in the Town Hall.
