Revenue Collector
Welcome to the Revenue Collector's Department!
The Putnam Revenue office is responsible for the billing and collection of real estate, personal property, motor vehicle, and supplemental motor vehicle taxes. Questions regarding the billing, balances due on current and delinquent bills should be directed to the Revenue Office staff.
Paying online, rather than paying in person, is an easy way for taxpayers to protect themselves from possible exposure. If paying online is not possible, sending payments by mail or leaving a check inside our convenient drop box located in the Town’s driveway is also available.
Starting July 1, 2020, if you are mailing a payment in a collection month and have enclosed a copy of your payment stub, mail your remittance to:
Town of Putnam
Department 1510
PO Box 986500
Boston MA
If you are paying a delinquent tax bill, if you do not have your original remittance payment, or you are mailing Online Banking checks, the mailing address is:
Town of Putnam
Revenue Office
200 School Street
Putnam CT 06260
Some of the DMV offices are currently closed to the public, but much can be done online. Please visit ct.gov for further information regarding online services and closings.
If you require an immediate release for the DMV while our offices are closed, please leave a money order in the drop box (no personal checks or cash please) with a note asking for the release. Our office check the drop box twice a day Monday through Friday.
Please contact our offices with questions but try using the Town of Putnam’s website as well. Many of your questions could be answered there. You can reach us also by calling
