The Town of Putnam has many Boards, Commissions, Committees, Authorities, Agencies, etc. [The word Boards will be used to include all previously mentioned bodies]. Some Boards have an elected membership where some others have a membership that has been appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Board of Selectmen. These appointive Boards involve residents of the Town of Putnam who volunteer their time, talent, and expertise for the benefit of our community.
Boards many be designated by Connecticut State Statute, ordinance or the Town of Putnam Charter. The Board of Selectmen may also create Boards for a specific purpose and outline their responsibilities through a Resolution.
If you are interested in getting involved and serving on one of the many Boards, in an area where you feel your experience, commitment and interest will make a difference, please review the board descriptions, the legal requirements and qualifications to serve.
