Putnam Traveler Recognized By NEDA As Best in Its Class
At its 48th Annual Conference in Boston in September 2004, the Northeastern
Economic Developers Association (NEDA) announced the selection of
The Putnam Traveler as the best tourism publication entry among
small budget organizations in NEDA's 2004 Literature and Promotions
Competition. Reaching across all size jurisdictions, including State
agencies, large, medium and small jurisdictions, NEDA also honored
the Putnam Traveler with its selection as the Best in the Class
of all tourism publication entries. NEDA is a professional economic
development organization serving eleven Northeastern states from
Maryland to Maine."You may take special pride in your 'Best
of Class' Award," said Eric Anderson, NEDA's executive director.
"This prize recognizes excellence across size classes, and
is often left unawarded altogether. Only the very best and most
effective work can earn these awards. The judges can and, in some
cases do, sometimes choose not to give the award at all. Therefore,
you may be justifiably proud that your work has met the test of
your colleagues - and competitors - from throughout the Northeastern
United States."
NEDA's 2004 Literature and Promotions Competition bases its awards
on five criteria, including Design and Layout, Clarity of Message,
Production Quality, Functionality, and Overall Creativity and Impact. The
Putnam Traveler is mailed to an 8,000+ list of people who have visited
Putnam and to all residents in Putnam, Pomfret and Woodstock; it
is also distributed through local shops and state visitor centers.
On the Putnam Traveler Editorial Board are Jerry Cohen of The Antiques
Marketplace, PMA Co-Chair Shawn Dinerman, Jim and Kelly Tourtellotte
of Global Design and Norm MacNeill, PRA's Director. Said Dinerman,
"We appreciated the recognition the paper has received from
NEDA, it affirms the contribution that the Putnam Traveler is bringing
to the promotion of Downtown Putnam" |
