Library From Home

Today’s library is more than a physical location.
You can access these library resources from home for help
with homework or to find information and fun books to read!

The BibliOak system is the new catalog
for  the Bibliomation consortium.  If you are
using it for the first time please enter your
library barcode  number and the last
four digits of your telephone number.
You will be prompted to create a new
password. Please try the BiblioOak
system  for placing items on hold before
 reQuest.

Starting on 2/29 Ebooks and eaudiobooks from Overdrive will be available from  the Putnam Public Library over the Internet.  You can search for, check out and download ebooks and eaudiobooks to a computer or ereader. This service is only available to  Putnam residents, and you must have a valid library card to  participate. This service has been provided by the generosity of our Putnam Lion’s Club. Click here for a printable  tutorial (legal size) and here for help from the Overdrive website.

The Putnam Public Library offers downloadable audio books
in MP3 format.  This subscription includes more than 2,000 unabridged books. Library patrons who wish to use  this service must come  into the library to  create an account on the library computers, then use their username and password to download books to their home computer. Start a new account with OneClickDigital, download the media manager and start listening!

If you would like to order a book which is not in the Bibliomation card catalog  you may try the Connecticut statewide interlibrary loan system, which is called reQuest. The items will be sent to our library and we will call you.

If you would like help keeping track of the items you have taken out of any of the Bibliomation libraries (Putnam, Killingly, Thompson, Mansfield) you can register for a free service called Library Elf.  This is run by a private company that allows you to receive email notices before items are due, overdue or now available.  You can consolidate your whole family's library cards and never be late again!  When you are signing up you will need to click on "sign up" next to "Bibliomation" as your library.
